Heather - Postscript and a Call to Action (3/5)

Post Script: A Week in the Life of a Teacher: a reflection after a week of blogging
Friends, your outpouring of love and thoughtful questions about my daily post blew me away. Here are some things I learned:
1. I started this as a way to bring the community into my classroom for a moment; to see what the life of a teacher might be like: the trials, the tribulations, the pure joy. What I learned is that I have loved doing it. I have loved connecting with YOU, and it has made me feel a real sense of community being able to bring you into the world of my students, teachers, and education. Thank you for taking the time to read my posts. It has meant so much to me.
2. I am just one voice of many. I am a high school English teacher at an urban high school, but my voice is not enough. Your voices and your stories, educator friends, need to be heard. Can you imagine how much our communities would learn if we all committed to just one week of telling our stories for the remainder of the school year? That is just 13 teachers. One week. Five days. Your story.
Who is willing to help me?
If you choose to post for a week, please tag me in it, as I would love to share it with my community. Thank you my dear, sweet friends. Let's bring the public into our classrooms for a few days through our stories and the stories of our students.
I will plan to pick up any week that no one can do. Exam weeks are going to be particularly interesting...
